Cairo Water Week is an annual event organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation (MWRI), under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Abdel Fatah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, in collaboration with national, regional and international partners. The main theme is “Water Security in Arid Regions – the Road to Dakar 2021”, divided into five sub-themes covering a broad spectrum of water security issues. It was chosen as a significant step towards achieving the goals of the strategic cooperation between MWRI and the Executive Secretariat of the 9th World Water Forum in Dakar, Senegal. Within the scope of this cooperation, MWRI will support the Executive Secretariat as a strategic partner in the field of water cooperation, one of the focus areas of the Forum.
